Lisa earns her bag cover!

L
isa Bable of Southaven is seen here showing off the newly earned bag cover, installed on her bagpipes, complete with the band identification "NEAC" on the back.  The Pipe Major awards the cover to pipers who have successfully memorized and performed the core band tunes.  These include "The Gordon Highlanders Quickmarch" which is the band's standard tune for marching in, the parade set of 3 tunes, and the band march-out tune, "Cullen Bay".

Earning the bag cover is one of several milestones a piper must achieve, in the progression from beginning student, to joining the performing circle, and eventually the competition band which will travel around the region going up against long established bands in several states.

The Northeast Arkansas Caledonian Pipes and Drums will be present at the July 4th "Fourth in the Forest" celebration in Jonesboro and would love to meet anyone of any age interested in learning to play, or just helping support the growing organization.  They meet most Sunday's from 2-4pm at the First Presb. Church in Jonesboro, AR. www.neacaledonians.com for more information.
