Members Celebrate Competition Success
This last weekend, 4 members of the band traveled to Oklahoma City for the Oklahoma Piping Debate. 3 of the members competed, with one being brought along as the group's house elf.
With 5 separate solo events (Piob Ground, 2/4 march, 6/8 march, Slow March, Strathspey/Reel), the trio of competitors brought back 6, count them, 6 top five finishes.
Danny Vaughn Sr
2 First place, 1 Third place finish, and best overall piper of the day, Grade 4 Sr.
David Corbett:
1 Third place, 2 Fourth Place finishes.
Robert Gill:
Completed his first ever solo competition. No small feat my friends.
We are very proud of all that made the drive, which was as long as 9 hours total, each way to represent the band, Northeast Arkansas & Southeast MO. As well as to challenge themselves to improve.
Well Done.
The next event and competition will be Saturday, April 19th at the Arkansas Scottish Festival, on the grounds of Lyon College in Batesville, AR.
Please feel free to drop by our weekly practice, at the First Presb Church in Jonesboro, AR (on Southwest Drive, just north of the interstate), any Sunday from 2-4pm.
