Arkansas Scottish Festival - Results

Well, we had 2 members submit their skills to the evaluations of Duncan D Bell [(1956 - ) American. Professional grade piper. Judges panel EUSPBA. PS for Parlin and District. Founder of "51 Ash," a Celtic Rock band, where he plays guitar, and keyboards. Eldest son of George M. Bell.]

Out of 17 competitors in Grade 4 Sr. 3rd place went to Pipe Sgt Danny Vaughn, and 5th to Myself.  Not too shabby at all.

We had 7 members / students show up along with family.  A tent, table and the new band banner Scott obtained were set up for attention.

While we didn't participate as a band, in the massed bands, let me tell you, from on or off the field, it was one of the most.. umm.. entertaining sights in recent memory.

Sunday practice. we had 3 pipers, one pipe student, and 2 drum students.  More marching, including "counter column".  Capt. Mason of the National Guard came over and personally welcomed us.  According to him, as of this time, the 875th is still scheduled to return home to friends and family, from active duy in Iraq in Oct.  but the big, formal "Welcome Home" event may be a bit later in say Nov.  Please, lets make sure we're ready to participate in welcoming these hero's home.
